IDEA organises the first Vanguard Matchmaking event

IDEA Consult has been supporting the "Vanguard Initiative" (VI) since late 2014. The VI is a network of 30 EU regions designed to accelerate the process of bringing technology to the market in Europe. The VI focuses on 5 areas of technology (efficient and sustainable production technologies, new energy applications, new nano materials, 3D-Printing and the innovative use of biomass) and strives to create synergies between regions in the field of technological demonstration. Based on the industrial requirements and technological strengths/weaknesses that have been identified in the participating regions, the network attempts to create intelligent connections between existing demonstration activities and to expand their scale. Some 30 projects (industry driven joint-demonstration cases) were thus identified, presented and discussed at an international ‘matchmaking event' in Brussels on 25 February 2016. The event was a resounding success, with over 400 participants, more than 160 of whom represented industry from the 30 European regions.
