Laura Lecluyse (Ph.D.)

Laura Lecluyse, Consultant/Researcher in the Innovation, Competitiveness and Sustainability team at IDEA Consult, has a broad interest in entrepreneurship, innovation, impact measurement and evaluation. Before joining IDEA Consult in April 2021, Laura worked as a doctoral researcher and later also as a post-doctoral researcher at Ghent University. There she gained extensive experience in both qualitative and quantitative research as well as in communicating research results to different stakeholders.
Laura obtained a master's degree in Applied Economics with a specialisation in Marketing at UGent in 2015, winning the award 'Best Bachelor and Master student' in this area of study. In 2019, she obtained her PhD in Applied Economics, entitled 'Opening up the black box of science park effectiveness'. The PhD was awarded the international 'Heizer Award for Outstanding Doctoral Research'. During her PhD Laura was a guest researcher at the Cass Business School in London. Subsequently, she started a postdoctoral project, 'Unraveling the impact of student entrepreneurship', at UGent. This project was financed by the FWO Flanders, Ghent University and the Department of Economy, Science and Innovation of the Flemish Government.
