Catherine Lecocq (Ph.D.)
Dr. Catherine Lecocq is expert “Competitiveness and Innovation” at IDEA Consult. She has more than 15 years of research experience in the field of regional innovation systems.
From 2012 to 2020, Catherine was researcher manager at VIVES, the Center of Regional Economics at the KU Leuven. At VIVES, she was also responsible for the research on clusters for the Policy Research Center Economics and Entrepreneurship (and its predecessor, the Policy Research Center for Entrepreneurship and Regional Economics). In the period 2003-2011, she was a researcher at the Management, Strategy and Innovation Department at the KU Leuven, where she obtained a PhD in Applied Economics. She worked on several European projects and varied research projects for the Flemish and Belgian governments.
The domains of expertise of Catherine include industrial policy and firm productivity, the technological and economic performance of regions and firms, regional clustering, innovation, the role of entrepreneurial universities and start-ups, and science-industry linkages. In these areas, she published in scientic journals en produced many policy reports. She also presented her werk at international and national workshops and conferences.
Catherine also has some business experience, mainly in finance (Deloitte, Komatsu and GfK Significant).
