CONSULTANT COMPETITIVENESS AND INNOVATION

  • The Competitiveness and Innovation unit advises public and semi–public governments on issues relating to competitiveness of sectors and countries and general research and innovation policy.
  • In order to meet the increasing demand for our services, we want to strengthen our team with a consultant competitiveness and innovation.

TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • You will be part of a team and research issues relevant to competitiveness and innovation policy in a broad sense;
  • You will read and synthesize literature (scientific papers, empirical reports, …);
  • You will analyze data and information collected through both qualitative (interviews, surveys, …) and/or quantitative (using databases such as Eurostat, Amadeus, …) approaches;
  • You will be involved in all project phases: writing proposals, implementation and analysis, reporting and advising.

REQUIREMENTS

  • University degree in economics or related discipline;
  • Some experience in research and advise, preferably in the areas of competitiveness and/or innovation;
  • Team player but you can equally work independently;
  • Strong communication skills, creative and entrepreneurial;
  • Very good command of English and of at least either Dutch or French.

SENIOR RESEARCHER LABOUR MARKET

TASKS AND RESPONSABILITIES

  • You will work on challenging projects within the IDEA-unit ‘Labour market and Socio-economic Policy’, especially for clients in the public sector;
  • You will work on projects that can range from research to monitoring, from policy evaluation to impact assessment;
  • You will be involved in all phases of research projects: proposal writing, analysis, reporting and advice.

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR IN CANDIDATES?

  • You have a degree (master, phd) in economic or social sciences;
  • You have at least 5 years experience in policy research in fields of labour market and lifelong learning, you are well acquainted with policy evaluation;
  • You have good communication skills;
  • You are a team player who can also work autonomously and is able to lead a project team;
  • You have a thorough, active knowledge of Dutch, English and (eventually) French;
  • You are familiar with working with figures and statistical analysis;

  SENIOR RESEARCHER ON EUROPEAN REGIONAL POLICY

 

TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • To prepare and to participate in prospecting new clients and partners
  • To lead the preparation of proposals
  • To prepare poject go/nog go decisions on project proposals
  • To manage a portfolio of projects in an independent way
  • To lead teams to realise the project
  • To write conclusions and strategic recommendations and to present client reports
  • To develop and maintain a network of partners and clients in the market
  • To contribute to the planning and global strategy of the domain 'regional and urban development'.

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR IN CANDIDATES?

  • You have a university degree, ideally in an Economics related discipline
  • You are an expert in the field, with more than 10 years of relevant working experience, preferably in an EU environment
  • You have good knowledge and understanding of EU regional policy
  • You have knowledge of data and information analysis techniques and models, especially in relation to policy evaluation, monitoring and impact assessment
  • You have good project management skills, including knowledge on project finances
  • You can manage teams, you motivate and support staff in the achievement of projects
  • You have good presentation skills and excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. Good knowledge of French and Dutch is an asset
  • You are client oriented, can convince and sell ideas and proposals
  • A good publication record or a project reference list in the field of European regional policy is an asset
